IE 6
Win XP Pro

I would like to remove the General tab from IE
(Tools> Internet Options)

Can this be done from the Group Policy edit (Start> Run> gpedit.msc)?
If yes, what are the steps?

I am trying to limit access to this tab so that items cant be removed by
limited user's on the computer.

Thank you

Start
Run
type "gpedit.msc" without the quotes
Hit enter
Local Computer Policy > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Internet
Explorer > Disable the General Page <-- configure that

Thanks Galen!!!
That does work HOWEVER...this is a system wide change.

1. Is there a way to make this change so that it only affects limited users?

2. How would I be able to reset/change the home page in IE? Do I need to go
back in, disable this feature, start IE, change the home page, then go back
and disable the General tab?

Thanks Again

You can set the setting under the User Configuration (follow the same path
from there) and admins *should* be able to bypass that??? You can also do
things like change the homepage in there. With Active Directory I'm pretty
sure you can actually set the GPO to effect only certain level of accounts.
I honestly don't know how you'd do it without that? I'm not even sure if you
can?
