General question re developing in Access 2007

Hi All

pre-A2K7 I've always hidden the database window entirely in a finished
application as is common practice.

I like the SDI capability of A2K7 but think it looks a bit odd if there is
just the 'single form' DI filling the whole application area. I'm aware
that you can customise the new navigation pane and it seems that most sample
apps display a customised version.

My question is are most developers using a customised nav pane and are the
customisation options robust enough to prevent direct access to database
objects?

TIA

I consider Access a 'power tool', where Word and Excel are more like
'bookcases'. Folks know how to use bookcases because they deal with books
(i.e., words, numbers) every day. Relational databases are not part of
(normal) folks' everyday life.

I use custom ribbons (and in earlier versions, custom toolbars) and maximize
the forms (and reports). I'd rather the users not find themselves somewhere
deep in the programming without any idea how they got there or what to do
next.
