GARRETT: why *NOT* do an rss feed from pricelessware dot org ?

P

*ProteanThread*

with all the "buzz" about rss newsfeeds - why not add an rss feed to the
pricelessware websites to notify of updates, files now shareware or no
longer supported, etc. ? the news items can be pulled directly from
acf.....

obviously someone would be the point person in pulling the info out of acf
or something (verifying links and stuff); maybe once a week thing ?

i think suzanne is pissed 'cause she didn't think of it first.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea.

What does everyone else think?

There's enough people around who basically already do that and post it
to ACF, so it would be kind of nice to have it centralized so that
everyone and websites could easily be notified.

I doubt that, if anything, she is happy that someone brought it up.

Everyone is too busy duking it out in the other thread on said
subject.

yea it would be maybe when ppl post it to acf, those who can't or
don't have time or some other reason are not able to view acf threads
and partake discussions still will be able to stay on top of thing
happening in acf or the freeware community. what if you had a
submissions page for acf or freeware news that can be followed up in
acf?
I doubt that, if anything, she is happy that someone brought it up.

sure fooled me. look at her replies to my OP and her replies to
others who followed up on said subject. sounds like she was on the
rag or was having hot flashes when she replied; so snappy.

The OP and my reply:

the acf newsgroup obviously.

Then Burnr asked:

<quote (top posting corrected)>

</q>

following that:
lol you're messing with me, right? Of course it would be RSS, but who would
generate the xml file?

<snip>
</q>

a post you didn't answer. . .

So many posts, so many threads, so little substance.

I just discovered that the beta version of alt.comp.freeware, itself,
does have its own RSS feed. Right now the beta is about a day behind,
but usually posts appear in real time. Check it out.

Just for the big babies, I'll post on the bottom where you have to scrawl
down to see it.

To Susan. I see so many vile remarks about you that I wonder why you don't
tell this bunch of babies to stick it where the sun doesn't shine and let
them muddle through on their own?

I could go on but I think my meaning is clear.

Feel free to snip (at least the signatures) so that your posts aren't
so hard to read.

It's a small enough bunch, and there's only one of them who feels the
need to start multiple threads to sling mud. I reckon their posts are
transparent enough to let stand without engaging.

IMO "the bunch" is great - gotta expect a few sour grapes.
