Gaming problem

This just started happening about a week ago. I have been playing several
games like the old Dragon's Lair, And companions of xanth and others. Well
they all worked just fine until recently, Now when i try to start a game a
message pops up with the following

c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXE.NT, The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the
application

These games all use to work before, but now i cant seem to get them to work
period. I tried a system restore, but the restore point is at like 2 or 3
days after this started happening so i really cant restore berfore the
problem to fix it. Any help would greatley be appreciated.

Try copying the autoexec.nt file from c:\windows\repair to
c:\windows\system32.
