most sites that i go to and try to play their games i get
a message saying that i need to install the virtual
machine, what is the virtual machine and how do i get it?

Hi Angie
The Java Virtual Machine is essentially a translator, so that java code can
be written without having a target operating system in mind. Java is not
included with Home Edition, or now in Service Pack 1. Microsoft
are no longer distributing their Java VM for legal reasons. If you
still need a copy you can
find one at http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html - after
installation you should visit the Windows Update site for a JVM security
update. Note that if you install the Microsoft JVM, MS will no longer issue
security updates for it after 2nd Jan 2004.
