gaining control of ad

Steve

our domain example steve.com was part of an enterprise
forest. we are no longer part of the enterprise. i need
for our domain admin to have control of sites and services
and active directories. we have two exchange servers. one
dns, all three of these are dc's and one is a gc. my
question is how can i gain control back of our domain. we
need to change our ip subnet addresses. and authorize new
dhcp servers and would like to clean up the ad.

No way to gain control unless THEY let you. You can;'t get out of the
forest, which is what you need to gain control of all the enterprise
functions, such as Sites and Services, etc.

Suggest to install a fresh AD forest and migrate all your accounts using
ADMT from your domain into the new one. You can install Exchange before the
migration. Then use the Exmerge tool to migrate the mailboxes over to the
user accounts.

Sorry, know that's not what you wanted to hear if you want to gain complete
control since you're no longer part of the original enterprise.
