Gadget Sidebar Problem

The message " Windows Sidebar has stopped working" happens frequently when I
reach the desktop in VISTA. Checking online brings no results, so I have to
close the program.

Does anyone have a solution to the problem?

Thanks

This sounds that you have a gadget added that crashes the sidebar.

Close all none default Vista gadgets and check if you get this error again.
If the error disappears, add all none default vista gadgets one by one until
you find the faulting gadget. Then contact the gadget author (can be seen in
"show details") and asked for an updated version if existing.

i am trying to fix my father-in-laws pc, i am unfamiliar with vista, but
we are having this same error. i would be happy to remove any gadgets to
resolve the problem, but there is nothing listed in the gadgets folder.
he recently downloaded realplayer, but has not added or changed any
sidebar gadgets. is there another way to go about this, other than the
gadgets folder in the windows sidebar subdirectory? we obviously cannot
open windows sidebar to look at them regularly.
any help is appreciated

I believe Realplayer and Gadgets are 2 different things . Uninstall
Realplayer from control panel .
