Function keys on multimedia keyboards

Andrew Ainscow

I've got a wireless multimedia keyboard which has extra
functions such as help, undo, save, print etc. on the F-
keys and there's an F Lock button to switch between the
normal functions and the special ones. Is there any way
to default the F-Lock to be on when windows starts as
it's very rare I want to use the extra functions they
offer. I've thought about uninstalling intellitype but if
that was to disable them it would also stop other buttons
on the keyboard working.

Any other ideas please?

Hello

Give this a try and may assist you

Click the Start button. Click the Run command and type regedit in the
Open text box. Click OK. As always, be very careful when editing the
Registry.
In the Registry Editor, go to the following registry key:
HKEY USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Keyboard
Double click the InitialKeyboardIndicators entry in the right pane of
the Registry editor.
In the Edit String dialog box, type the number "1" (without the quotes)
in the Value data field. Click OK.
Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.
