Function keys acting weird

I have Windows Vista and have had it for a few weeks, but now every
time I press a function button, I get some weird results. For example,
pressing F2 to usually rename files actually sends the file to the
garbage (asking "Am I sure" first, I guess the first time that
question has actually been useful) If I press F5 to refresh the page
in Explorer or Firefox, it shows the "Open File" dialog. F12 asks me
to print the file :S

It's probably not a virus, as BitDefender is always up to date. Also,
it's not the keyboard as both a removable keyboard and my laptop
keyboard give the same result. Any ideas?

Hi DigitalBlade,

It sounds as though you might have accidentally pressed the key marked 'F
Lock' on your keyboard. The indicator on the keyboard should be on if you
want the keys to act as F1-F12 and off if you want the keys to act as per the
text on them.
Do your other keyboards have this function as well? You could also check
your BIOS settings - most will allow you to select the state of Num Lock but
some will also allow you to select the state of F Lock as well, and if this
is set then this might explain the results from your other keyboards.
