Full Name Display in Outlook 2003 Contacts

Suddenly my Outlook Contacts is misbehaving when I enter a new contact. I
have heretofore entered firstname lastname in the "full name" field, and when
looking at the "check full name" window, found the firstname listed in the
"First" field and the lastname in the "Last" field. Now, when entering a new
contact, the firstname shows up in "Last," and lastname in "First!" I have
set the Outlook Tools Email option to sort and display as lastname,
firstname, and somehow the "file as" selection displays in the "lastname,
firstname" format! Any suggestions?

Not completely certain of what the question/problem is but the Display
Format and FileAs formats are set separately so depending on your Outlook
settings - the scenario you describe could easily be correct. Now if your
question is "how did my settings suddenly get changed" from one moment to
the next - that's anyone's guess but Outlook doesn't/won't do it by itself -
leastwise not that I've ever seen over the years.
