Full justification of numbered lists -- Word 2003

I give up. I've looked everywhere. (Well, apparently not everywhere.) How
do I fully justify a numbered list? I have a style set up for legal
pleadings, and the style integrates a numbered list. But I cannot figure out
how to make it fully justified -- if I use ctrl-J, it changes the style to
Normal + Justified.

Insights greatly appreciated!

"Normal + Justified" isn't a style but a style + direct formatting. To
actually change the style, right-click it in the Styles and Formatting task
pane (Format | Styles and Formatting) and choose Modify from the context
menu. Then specify the "Justified" for "Alignment."

Thanks, Stefan. But where is "alignment" in the styles editing window? The
option is there when the style is not based on a numbered list, but I do not
see it in a style with a numbered list. And I don't see it if I click on
"Format" at the bottom of the modification window -- "paragraph" is greyed
out and if you try to actually modify the list from that menu, there is still
no option for justifying it.

If you are modifying a *list style* you cannot set the alignment of text; it
must be specified either for the underlying paragraph style or directly for
the text paragraph (the latter is apparently what you have been doing so
far).

You can choose to set up your list style with a paragraph style associated
with each numbering level. The paragraph styles will then control the
horizontal alignment of text.

OH!! Okay -- that worked! Thank you!
