FTP problem - Files load to a certain point but then hang

I'm getting to the stage where I will have to re-format my computer to get
FTP to work again :(

This is an intermittent yet consistent problem. When I am able to use FTP
after some time I get the problem. When I'm lucky I can get 30 minutes of
work done.

I can log into my account and change directories without any problems. I can
also delete files. The problem occurs when I try and upload a file. The files
starts normally but then hangs before the trasfer finishes (usually after
8,192KB are transferred). I get a connection timeout error:

Error:> Operation timed out
State:> Force close data connection.
State:> Auto close data connection.
Error:> Failed to send file tabletapple_thumb.jpg.

Any ideas?

What program are you using to do FTP? If you are using IE, try the free
program FTP Commander. Here's the url:
http://www.internet-soft.com/ftpcomm.htm

If you are already using a third-party program, please let us know which
one.

Hi Malke,

I use one WS FTP and are also trying with FTP Surfer. I suffer the same
problem with both.

Many thanks,

Lawrence
