FTP client problem

Hello -

On a Win2K Server with SP4 and all critical patches, I am
having problems using the ftp client. I can login and
change directories, but cannot ls, dir, get, put, mget,
mput, etc. The ftp.exe application hangs at that point.

I've tried rolling back to the SP3 version of ftp.exe to
no avail. GUI clients such as WS_FTP LE do not have this
problem. I'd appreciate input from anyone. Thanks!

Perhaps the connection requires passive mode.
After connecting with ftp, enter the command:
quote pasv
