Frustrating - meetings get deleted after I accept

G

Guest

I just got a recurring invite which occurs every 2 weeks. It doesn't show up
in my calendar even after I accept it.

I read on this forum that deleting an original email after accepting the
invite will delete the appointment as well.

In this case, the original invite disappeared from my inbox as soon as I
accepted. I didn't delete anything.

Please help.

Aloha bb,

What version of Outlook are you using?

I don't know where you read that but it isn't true.

Are you sure you're looking at your default calendar? Meeting invites that
you accept will be placed on your default calendar. If you're looking at
a subfolder or a calendar in another folder store (Personal Folders file
for instance), then you won't see them.

Before accepting it, click the Show Calendar button. Does it appear as
tentative?

I doubt that. I do it all the time.

This is a setting you can choose. Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Advaced
E-mail Options. Uncheck the box labeled "Delete meeting requests from Inbox
when responding".
