FrontPage won't publish to remote server

The server sent a response which FrontPage could not parse. If you are
trying to connect to a Windows SharePoint Services server, check with the
server's administrator to make sure Windows SharePoint Services is installed
properly. FrontPage 2003No serverWindows XP Pro I am getting this message
when I try to Publish site, after which the remote server times out. I have
uninstalled and reinstalled Frontpage 2003 to no avail. I have disabled the
Macfee Firewall. All to no avail. I have the same program installed on my
laptop and it works fine!!! Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this
problem??? The only thing I can see that is different between the laptop
and the desktop computers is the desktop has something called "Microsoft
FrontPage Client - English" on it and I can't seem to find a uninstall for
it.

Try this:
http://95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm
on the affected computer. maybe it's choking on a temp file or something.

if that doesn't clear it up, on the affected computer open FrontPage but
close any site that opens in it automatically (file/ close site). then hit
file/ open site and type in the http:// address of the site. when the
server based web opens for you in FrontPage hit tools/ recalculate
hyperlinks, then file/ publish and in the publish properties box, hit browse
and browse down to the web on your local computer, then publish from the
server into your local copy.

That fixed it for me once.

Can you open the online web in FP?
If so reverse publish

I tried the cleanup and reverse publishing, but the problem still exists!
If I copy my site from the desktop computer to a zip disk and then use the
zip disk with the laptop, it publishes fine without the parse error.

I do note that there is something that shows on my machine in the add or
remove programs as Microsoft Fronpage client - English. It doesn't have a
change or remove option though???
