[FrontPage Save Results Component] Error Message

K

Karen

Hello,

I have developed a website with an enquiries form that
Internet users may fill in to request certain
information. This website has been published (using
Frontpage), but when I follow through to this particular
page it has the following error message: [FrontPage Save
Results Component] written across it.

I am assured by the ISP who are hosting the website that
they have installed the FP Server Extensions that are
required for this page to work, but it does not. If I
fill in the details anyway and submit the form I get an
error message to contact the site's webmaster who must
check the application event log.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks, Karen.

Are you using the forms to email?

Has your host configured the forms to email transport in the extensions for
your account?

Hello. Yes, I am using the form to save details that is
to be emailed. Not sure if host has configured it for
email transport, so I'll check. Thanks. Is there
anything else that I would need to check in this case?

Only the forms to email, if it hasn't been set up.

Karen,

The [FrontPage Save Results Component] can appear for a
number of reasons. Among these are ...

1. The FrontPage Server Extensions are corrupt or not
installed.

2. You used FTP to transfer your form page to your site.
The FP form relies on publishing to http location. Using
FTP can corrupt the extensions.

3. There is a problem with your form properties settings.
This could be as simple as a syntax error in either your
file path or confirmation page URL.

In addition, as Tom pointed out, the Mail transport plays
an uimportant role in getting your form results.

If your page is published, a URL for the form page would
be helpful.
