FrontPage Extensions

I recently had to reinstall FrontPage 2000 and PWS. I'm still on
Windows 98.

When I try to create a subweb, I get a message saying:
"The version of the FrontPage Server Extensions installed on this web
server does not support creating more than one level of subwebs.
To upgrade to the latest version of the FrontPage Server Extensions,
contact your Internet service provider or system administrator."

I'm trying to create a subweb from a regular web inside what PWS
considers my root web (i.e. localhost). I have several domains I take
care of and each one is its own web inside the root; hence the "more
than one level".

Since this is a single computer and I'm using PWS, there is no ISP
involved.

I have no idea how to find out what version of the FrontPage
Extensions I have on the machine.

Does anyone know what version I need and where to get them to allow me
to create subwebs more than one level deep and where I can get them?

Thanks.

i'm no expert on subs, but i don't think you can have root/subweb/subweb, just root/subweb

if i'm wrong one of the gurus here will correct me.

also, obviously, make sure PWS is actually running (not sleeping) :)

You can have nested subwebs with FP2000 & Up.

I get a message from the FrontPage extensions on my machine that says
they do not allow nested subwebs and I should get a newer version of
the extensions. I'm on Windows 98 using FP2000 and PWS that comes on
the Win98 disk. Which version of the extensions do I need and where
can I get them?

You need to download the FP2000 extensions from MS, as you are running the
FP98 extensions.

I just reinstalled the FP2000 extensions from the FP2000 CD. I still
get the same error.

Can you tell me if there's an update/fix and where on MS's site I can
get the correct extensions. I can never find anything I want on their
site.
