Frontpage 2003 and Sharepoint Designer confusion

Hi, Hope someone can help me. I used to use Frontpage 2003 to build and
publish my website on. I had this on Windows XP. However, now I have Windows
Vista with Sharepoint Designer on it, which seems to be the new Frontpage,
which is why I purchased it. I opened up my website (stored on my hard drive)
in the new Sharepoint designer and made a change to one of my web pages. I
then clicked on File, and then Publish website so that I could update the
website to the server. However, I was confused about the local and remote
site and I still am and I've messed up what should be in which. Should my
hard drive website be in the 'local'? What should be in the remote and how do
I get whatever should be in there? I'd be grateful if someone could guide me
in simple terms!

Expression Web is the replacement for FrontPage.

Does this mean that I can't update my website built on Frontpage 2003, using
the Sharepoint Designer. Would I have to buy 'Expression Web' instead?

You should not be using FrontPage, since (a) Microsoft killed it off,
and (b) FrontPage creates pages which typically do not work with many
contemporary browsers.

As to whether you need Expression Web, Microsoft publishes this advice:

You have the correct product. Sharepoint Web Designer 2007 is the
replacement for Frontpage, NOT Web Expressions.

The Publish Site issue:
When you select Publish Site, you see two frames the one on the left says
"Local Web Site". The Local Web Site is the website you opened (If you
opened a live site on the Internet, this will show
"http://www.yourwebsite.com"). If you opened your file system site, it will
show "c:\documents and settings\...". The remote site is set by clicking on
the Remote Web Site Properties (top right).

Hope this helps you. You DO NOT want to use Web Expressions, period.
