from NT 4.0 and Exchange 5.5 to Server 2003 and Exchange 2003

Hi everybody,

Can I setup an new domain with 2 windows 2003 servers and an exchange 2003
server (some domain/domainname, but with another ip range and the 2 networks
not connected) and create the users (+/- 20 users) manual and import the
content of the mailboxes from exchange 5.5 to exchange 2003? How can I copy
the mailboxes? The exchange 5.5 server is a BDC, can I put him in the new
domain? Can I just use the files from exchange 5.5 and import them to
exchange 2003?

There are two ways you can go about this:

1. Install new domain and setup a two way trust (if the networks are
physically connected and have sufficient ip routing) to the old nt 4 domain,
install and join the new exchange 2003 server to the 5.5 organization and
move the mailboxes using exchange system manager

2. Install new domain with exchange 2003, use Exmerge to export the 5.5
mailboxes, then reimport them into the new exchange 2003 organization.
