i have just installed a fresh copy of windows xp on my computer i
finished installing and all that but then. when it goes to the star
screen when it has the big WINDOWS XP logo and it has the scrolling ba
under it. it freezes does anyone know what might be wrong with it?

also i put a different harddisk in the computer and it did the sam
thing. i can access the computer in safe mode

One of the things that happens while that logo is on screen is that the
video mode changes from system managed to Windows managed (installed
display driver is engaged). It's possible that your display driver is
having a hard time accepting the switch. When you boot to Safe Mode, the
vgasafe driver is used if necessary. Since this is a very vanilla driver,
it works fine in most cases and in yours.

In other words, based on what you've posted, I would suggest updating (or
reinstalling) the display driver for your hardware.
