French Spell Checker Now

What the hell? O.K. I've had an older version of Front Page installed for
a long time. Recently, I installed Office, with Expression Web, so I
decided that I could remove Front Page, which I did. Now, the only spell
checker that shows up in Outlook Express is French. English was there
before. Uninstalling Front Page is the only thing I can think of that may
have initiated this odd event. WTFO? I've noticed WinXP doing quirky
little things before, but this is my first real PITA problem.

Anyone have a suggestion?

You might want to consider using Thunderbird as it has a spell check as
you write function and an excellent junk filter.

Not only that, it's MUCH easier to back up than Outhouse Express. All
you need to do is copy the profile. When you go to restore, you copy and
paste the backed-up profile into T-Bird under documents and settings and
you'll have *everything* except the passwords.

Presumably Office 2007?

Correct

Nothing to do with Windows, and ALL to do with Office 2007.

You have two options.
The first is to re-install the English Proofing tools from your previous
version of Office and the second is to google for a third-party spell check
for Outlook Express.

You no longer have spell checking capabilities in some languages in OE6
after you install Office 2007
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932974

The spell checker in Office 2007 is not compatible with OE6. Try a free
spell checker instead:

Actually, Spell Checker in Outlook Express was working with Office 2007
installed. It only stopped working after I removed Front Page.
