freezes during restart safe mode with command prompt

When restarting in safe mode with command prompt, my
computer freezes on the 1394bus.sys file. It used to
freeze on the himem.sys file, but I read somewhere to
delete that file and that will fix it. Well, I deleted the
himem.sys file and now when I restart in safe mode with
command prompt it freezes on the previous file,
1394bus.sys...Any ideas?

If you have your Installation CD now is the time to re-
install, and never ever delete the himem.sys

Is that the only mode it freezes on? Go to start | run.
Type in sfc /scannow (note the space between sfc and the /. Have the
installation CD handy.
