Hi all,

I am looking for a freeware to monitor the RAM of my system and prompt me if
the memory falls the pre-defined size before my OS dies of the lack of
resources.

The program should enable me to see all the programs and the amount of
memory they occupy and the opiton to kill them and free the momory.

Anything exist????

Happy new yearssss....

Happy new year Anna
You can use Rampage. Its excellent to monitor the Ram memory usage in
realtime
and can also free the memory leaking automatically, when the Free ram
drops in a critical level let say 10 mb.Its simple very easy to
configure,it stands in system tray all the time showing the free ram.I
m using this program for more than a year.No problems so far

I advice FreeRam XP (see download com)
It's as good as a ram checker can be... good for low rammed systems..
but it uses ram for it's actions.. so after a while... you'll exit it
I guess... I do most of the time on my 128 ram old system.

Though it's the best I ever found.

Just in case it's not RAM but system,GDI, or user resources causing
crashes {it always is on my W98SE), quickresource from

www.am-productions.yi.org

may help; its very similar to the windows resourcemeter but shows
resources separately, and has an alarm.

This helps me because when I get a warning from windows my system is
usually already in meltdown, and it opens new IE windows faster than I
can shut them...., reboot inevitable.

Anyone who runs a W9X (eg w98, wME) OS, it is _vital_ to watch our very
limited system resources. And there is nothing superior to QuickResource.
It's spared me from a million crashes.

For the RAM stuff, there are recommendations made elsewhere in this thread.
Plus some relateds at Webattack.

Note: be sure to try the PL 2004 winner, MemLoad, a 28k zip.
