Free Spyware Scanner 8.0.5

Yes, check here if it's one of the good or the bad guys:

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

Funny you should mention that page, as I have just been checking it out.

The program doesn't seem to be among the listings, although I did notice a
reference on another page that suggested it may have been an associated
program, so have not been able to come to a conclusive decision.

I may end up just using an old copy of Ad-aware (build 181 version 6),
which I understand *does* support Win95.

Thanks.

A bit more research...

Second to last message on this page indicates link;

and ended up tracing it (through the topdownloads.net domain) in the list
to find the following;

aggressive, deceptive advertising; false positives work as goad to
purchase; "Free Spyware Scanner" uses out-of-date reference database w/ no
update function

Be sure you will be able to get new definitions as well : otherwise will
rapidly become useless

Yes, v6.181 supports W95. However, they've stopped updating data
def. files in Oct., AFAIK.
