Does 7-Zip pack and unpack rar files? It appears that Justin wants to
do both. I like winRAR. It's inexpensive and I believe there's a free
trial period.

No, apparently it will only unpack.

Packing / unpacking: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR
Unpacking only: ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, DMG, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA,
MSI, NSIS, RAR, RPM, UDF, WIM, XAR and Z.

WinRAR is the top authority for RAR compressing, as you might guess they're
are the ones who invented it in the first place.

After 40-days it starts complaining for $20 or somkething, to register, if
you ingnor it continues to work perfectly.
Of course that makes you an ****** ****, and you should be ashamed of being
so cheap, but it still works after 40 days.
Just remember - by saving a few dollars, you hurt Shareware community and
some years later it will all disappear, it's like spitting into a well of
water from which you will be drinking later.
