when installing FP2000 on Win XP home we get the following error

Unable to access configuration for microsoft personal web server

"Unable to access configuration for microsoft personal web server " at the
end of the installation

click OK and the inst. proceeds

however opening FP2000 we get this error

frontpage.exe execution error
"\fp4autl.dll"

have tried -

reinstalling FP2000
reinstalling webfolders
re-registering fp4autl.dll
re-extracted fp4autl.dll from its cabinet file

any more ideas?

thanks in Advance

Uninstall FP, then re-install using the custom install option and do not install the FP extensions,
etc.

MS personal web server will not install on Windows XP Home. You need to do
a custom install of FP 2000 without the web server, and run only disk-based
webs.

thanks for the advice

as i understand it i should still be able to open FP2000 even though i get
this error message about the personal web servers. (or is this incorrect...)

im more concerned about not being able to open frontpage 2000 at all and i
have mentioned the fp4autl.dll error message which we get on trying to open it

the error message specifically mentions the "\" symbol infront fp4autl.dll ie

"\fp4autl.dll"

installing fp2000 on another windows XP based machine works fine!

the cu has Norton NIS installed

thanks in advance.. have looked around at other similar errors but the only
other topic on this error didnt help.

im assuming that involves going to add remove programs and setting the
following to not available

Server Extensions Resource Kit
Server Extensions Admin Forms

that has been tried ..same problem but thanks again...
