FP2003 - How do you get Sharepoint Services Data Functionality

K

Ken

I don't understand how you get the Sharepoint Funtionality that is in
FP2003.

I have a Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 Server and a Windows XP
Professional Client machine.

My SBS2003 runs the standard "CompanyWeb" which is based on WIndows
Sharepoint Serivces.

I understand that I can't create a web on my XP Workstation and expect the
Sharepoint functionality that is now built into FP2003. But, have a Windows
2003 Server, I thought that I would be able to create a web on the 2003
Server from the XP workstation and then have the FP2003 Sharepoint
Functionality. But this doesnt seem to be the case.

Has anyone out there been able to get the Sharepoint Functionality working?
How do you do it?

Thanks

Hi Ken,

FrontPage 2003 can work with a SharePoint web site, but you have to create a
SharePoint web site before you can work with it. Creating a web is not the
same thing as creating a SharePoint web site. You need to install Windows
SharePoint Services and then use the SharePoint web administration tools to
create SharePoint sites.

So I have to go to my 2003 Server and first create the sharepoint Service
Web. Then I can open it in FP2003 on the client and get the Sharepoint
Functionality that is now in FP2003?
