FP2003 & Databases

I've got about 8 applications using the FP database components for Access
databases sitting on the web server. My questions are relating to
upgrading:

1) If I switch to FP2003, can I still maintain the applications using the DB
wizard even if my host still uses the FP Extensions (not the SharePoint
Services)

2) In the future if my host decides not to continue using SharePoint
services and strictly uses IIS, can I maintain the applications using the DB
wizard?

Okay, first, you need to understand that FrontPage 2003 has more methods for
connecting to databases than previous versions. It can work with ASP
Database Results pages just like previous versions. It can also work with
SharePoint webs to work with databases via Web Parts. These are 2 completely
different technologies. A SharePoint web site cannot use FrontPage server
extensions. The ASP Database Results components require FrontPage server
extensions to create and work with Database Results pages. SharePoint Web
Parts do not, but require that the web site you are working with is a
SharePoint web site. Therefore, if the web site you are publishing to has
FrontPage server extensions, you can use the Database Results components to
create ASP or ASP.Net database-connective pages. If you are working on a
SharePoint site, your existing Database Results pages will continue to work,
but you won't be able to edit them in FrontPage. However, you will have the
ability to create and edit new SharePoint pages with Web Parts that connect
to databases.

One clarification. For Database Results pages using ASP or ASP.NET, the
Server Extensions are only required on the machine where you are creating
the pages. They are not required on the server where the page will be
published to.

But helpful in the fact the extensions will set the correct permissions on
the fpdb folder, etc.
