FP2000 Navigation Structure will not update

J

John

I have had a few problems with my website of late.

At present despite a full copy of the web on the PC I have found that some
updated pages do not show their navigation links and navigation bars

Loading the remote site into the browser reveals that the links are not
shown.

However they are shown on the version shown on my PC and work.

Is there a way of forcing the remote version to update the links?

I know when you make changes to nav structure locally and upload usually the
remove version asks if you want to make changes to the structure and
presents three options.

Despite delipberately changing the local structure to try and force this,
nothing happens.

Any suggestions please?

Thanks

You might try Recalculate Hyperlinks both on the local copy and directly on the server.

Have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below (especially # 1,2 & 6):
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
4) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
5) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
6) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
