FP 98 system requirements

Hello,

My organization will be upgrading to Windows XP and
Windows 2003 Server in the near future and while we do
intend to upgrade from FP 98 to 2003, we are not looking
to do this until our OS upgrades are completed.

My question is, will FP 98 run on Windows XP and will the
associated FP Extensions run on Windows 2003 Server? I
know that this is not officially supported by Microsoft
(FP 98 is not even supported at all). Just wondering if
this will work in the interim before we get around to
upgrading FP.

Thanks!

FP98 requires a web server to function, which comes with it. The old FP PWS
or MS PWS 2 or 4. If you are running WinXP Pro, it comes with IIS 5.1 web
server, which you would use. You would do a custom install of FP 98 to NOT
install the PWS, which is not supported in WinXP.

If using WinXP home, which does not have IIS, You could try going without a
web server, and try running disk based webs, which work for some and not for
others with FP 98.-

Win 2003 server, by default, has the FP 2002 extensions built in. You would
have to use those.
