FP 2002 will not upload

I created a website using FP2002, back in 2003,and sucessfully launched a
site http://rugbywhiteside.tripod.com. It was a free site and everything went
as it should. Given that I knew little about these things then I was
surprised that it presented so well. It was in the order of 4.5 megabytes. In
recent times I have updated and finished the work with many photographs that
the original did not have. Today the size of the client serveris 18.5 mb.
To accomodate the extra size I have upgraded and this now allows 100mb.

Now that I try to uploaed this new version, it goes through the motions,
with flying transfeanimation, locks on a given file and then spews out a
message (not always the same) but mostly this one.

The server sent a response which FrontPage could not parse. If you are
trying to connect FP server, check with server administrator to make sure the
FP server extensions are installed properly.

I have contacted Lycos/Tripod to no avail and have wrestled for weeks with
this problem. I am 74 and a lot of these instructions are 'goobly-gook' to
the uninitiated.

All I want to do is to get the site republished and get on with other issues.

It goes without saying that any solution would be gratefully appreciated.

This normally indicates your firewall or proxy server isn't set to allow
connections to the host. Configure it to allow FP access.

Continue your attempts to contact Lycos/Tripod to determine if your FrontPage
Server Extensions have indeed been removed. Several hosting companies are
removing them from their servers.

Could be the extensions are not really installed any longer (some hosts are
not supporting them any more), or they are not working.
Can also be you are trying to publish files over 1 meg, or you have a
thumbs.db in your website that you shouldn't publish...or...

Assuming Tripod have not removed the extensions, the "The server sent a
response which FrontPage could not parse" and "Server timed out" error
messages are indications that the web site *may* be too big for the
server. You may have sufficient web space, but it takes time to publish
a site - and bigger sites need more time. If the server is overloaded
and busy (typical of Tripod/Lycos) then publishing will fail.
If Tripod allow subwebs, try moving your images into a subweb and
publishing separately from the main website. Since the main web and
subweb are effectively different webs, publishing may succeed.

Sorrry Tom; I could not find the reply form.

As to the firewall, I had Windows Live One Care and it always gave trouble.
I have since removed it and have another system which calls for he firewall
to be disabled.

I do not understand the 'proxy server' bit. How do I go about addrssing
this. Incidently I have Step by Step 2002 and I still cannot fnd te solution
to load the site.
