Found but can't delete: ABetterInternet.Ceres

Sean

I am using Win2000Pro, with all SPs and Critical Patches
applied. MSAntiSpyware continues to find the following
hijacks, claims to be have removed them, but they still
keep popping up:

"Transponder.ABetterInternet.Ceres"
"Possible Hosts File Hijack (host file redirection of
69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com"

I have run Deep Scan, Removed all found items, and
rebooted, repeatedly. I have rebooted into Safe Mode and
run the scan there, but no hijacks show up. And
suggestions would be appreciated.

That's an obvious indication of the 'look2me' pest.
As it is known to hook 'winlogon' and other major system files,
you are going to need expert help to clear it completely.

Your starting point should be here:
http://www.ad-w-a-r-e.com/cgi-bin/UnInstaller

Follow instructions, download, run and enter the key when prompted!
You should reboot right away when prompted.

To clear any and all related remnants, look for 'hijackthis.exe' and post
the scan results in one of the support forums.

P.S:
That uninstaller confirmed to work and will not harm, but it will only
remove one problem, not any other affiliates.
P.P.S:
It is digitally signed by 'versign'-- As also known
to be M$ trusted root certifinate ;)
