Forwarding mail received on one account usign a different account

System:
Windows XP Pro
Office 2003 SBE
Outlook accounts:
Exchange account hosted on local server
Legacy POP3 from old dial-up internet account

Can I automatically set e-mails received on the POP3 to be sent by the
exchange account (by default replying/forwarding emails received form the
legacy account trys to send it _from_ this account)? I've looked everywhere
but can't find any way to do this.

I am responsible in our company for forwarding mails sent to our old e-mail
addresses on to the appropriate people. For this I have our 'standard'
Exchange account set up, and have also set up a POP3 account to catch all
mail sent to the old addresses. The send from this account will not work,
since the ISP confirms you are dialed in on your account before it will
accept incoming mail. This works fine, since I just change the account
drop-down box to be from the Exchange account before sending the mail.

Occasionally I forget to do this and the message goes into the Outbox.
Outlook then does a send/receive and tells me it can't send to the old
account. This means I need to shut down outlook, reopen and open the mail
messgae before the send/receive at startup gets to it again (otherwise it's
locked and I can't get at it). I then click 'Send Again' and change the
account to send from before resending.

This has worked fine until Friday. I followed the procedure as described
above and the mail went successfully (then routing to my Sent Mail folder -
my Outbox now being empty). The problem was that Outlook still thought there
was a mail for the legacy POP3 account, and kept trying to send this - giving
me a warning screen every 5 mins - very annoying. The Outbox was empty - yet
it was still trying to send mail.

The only way to fix it was to delete the resent mail from my sent items box,
closing and re-opening afterwards - losing the record that I had delt with
this incoming mail appropriately. However this took me the best part of a day
to sort out!

Once again - is there any way to default ALL mail (even forwarded or
replied) to go from a single account?

Looks like I spoke to soon - It's decided it's trying to send it again.

Oh and to confirm I did a full Virus scan (Bitdefender Online) as well as
the McAfee scan on network traffic. No local scanner to worry about, firewall
is MS Firewall on Desktop and one on ADSL router as well. Also did a spyware
scan (CA Online). Everything came up clean (except a few hits for BehavesLike
