I think what I'm trying to do should be simple but . . . basically I have a spreadsheet I use for managing the statistics of a Football team. Within it are (amongst many others !!) two columns of data, one contains either a League position or the word Cup if the match was a cup game. The column next to it contains whether the team won the game or not, basically a W or an L. What I'd like to do is COUNTIF Column A = Cup AND Column B = W for expample, but this appears to be ridiculously difficult and won't work !!!! Does anyone have any suggestions how to get the results I'm after, namely a count of the number of Cup games we've won etc ????
