Formatting user-defined field based on function option in Calendar -Outlook 2000

I'm using Outlook 2000 and can't seem to determine how to
format a user defined field that his based on a formula.
The field take an existing field in Calendar, subtracts 30
and displays the results which are in day, date and time.
I would like the result to just display as a short date.
