formatting cd's

can I format my cd's using windows, or do I have to go out and buy a program that formats the cd"s
I d like to use the windows xp program if it allows me to format on a read write drive

Hi, There is no reason to format a CD unless you want to use packet writing
software like DirectCD (Drag 2 Disc) or InCD. So if you wish to format a
disc for that type of use you will need to purchase an application that
supports it.

forget it...get Nero...and Incd id free packet writing for your CDRW
disks....but I really think you have to do some research regarding
this...your a bit confused on what this is all about...
