FORMATTED CD-R DISK

D

Derek

WHen ever I format a brand new CD-R and then go to my My
computer and click on the D: (my CD DVD drive) or E drive
(my CD-R/RW drive) Windows Media Player starts and I get
the the following message: THE SYSTEM CANNOT FIND THE
SPECIFIED FILE.

How can I stop the WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER from starting and
just see the contents of the drive/CD?

Derek,
Two things occur to me
First, to explore the files on any drive, right click it, then click
'explore'.
An explorer window will open listing the contents in the right hand window.
Second, CD-R discs are writeable once only.
They don't need to be formatted,
unlike a CD-RW which is re-writable, so you may just be blanking the discs
you burn.
( I use a 3rd party app for burning, so I have no idea how 'intelligent' the
windows writer is).
Hope this helps
