formating partition

I have a single hard drive unit partitioned into my C:
and D: drives. I never use the D drive, (It used to have
all the Compaq backup stuff on it before I rebuilt my PC
and added XP) Is there a way to remove the partition?
Symantec "Partition Magic" is expensive.

Yes. Go to control panel and click the administrative tools icon. In the
admin tools window click the computer management icon. When the computer
management window opens you will see a list on the left of the window. Click
on the disk management option. Another window will open showing your
partitions, both in menu form and graph. Right click on your D: partition
and, from the drop down menu, select Delete partition. Once the partition
has been deleted you can exit.

PM is rather expensive...BUT it WORKS...and I recommend leaving the
partitions the way you have them...

Keep important files on D.. any that you may have generated.. pics..
whatever you feel that you would not want to lose.. second partitions are
useful if you have to reload the operating system for any reason.. export
your e-mail to D, and your address book..

BootIt NG from Terabyte. They have a 30 day full function demo that can do
the partition management you need to do. Read the very helpful user guide to
learn how to resize the current partition to the full hard drive capacity.
XP does not have the built in capability to do what you want to do.
