Formating heading styles

Guest

Hi,

I am trying to format a document that has 2 levels of headings (Heading 1
and Heading 2). The Heading 2's I want to be outline numbered according to
the Level 1 heading i.e....

1.0 Heading One
1.1 heading Two
2.0 heading One
2.1 Heading Two

However, at the moment Word seems to be numbering my Level 2 headings in
relation to the last level two heading, rather than linking it to the Level 1
heading beneath which it lies.... i.e....

1.0 Heading One
1.1 Heading Two
2.0 Heading One
1.2 Heading Two

Any ideas welcome!!!

cheers,

In the Define New Multilevel List dialog box (Word 2007) or the Customize
Outline Numbered List dialog box (Word 2003), it seems as if the number of
the previous level and the current number have been reversed in the "Number
format" (Word 2003) or "Enter formatting for number" (Word 2007) box. You
can use cut and paste to get them in the correct order (or just delete the
contents and reinsert it). See also
