Format goof up

While fixing a f'ed up Pc I used Partition Commander to format a 10gb
Partition on an 80gb disk to load my XP OS. After running setup using my XP
CD I know have the following screen before bootup:

Please select the OS you would like to log on to
1)Windows XP Home Edition
2)C: unknown volume

Now either one takes me to my Xp welcome log on screen but I would like to
eliminate the step to have to select the log on screen. Any ideas on where I
messed up?? The HD is working fine and all is well and this is what the MMC
Disk management console shows: (Some words have been abbreviated)

Vol - Layout TYPE- File - Status- Cap- Free Space-
Fault Tol-Ovrhd
(C:) Partition - Basic -NTFS -Healthy(System)-10gb- 6.24gb--- NO -
0%

I have added several logical Partitions (2) along with an additional Primary
Partition with which to run an additional OS and all partitions show as
HEALTHY and I can access and navigate my files just fine but simply don't
understand what or where I goofed while using VCOM's System Commanders
Partition Wizard to format and create the original space for my Win XP home
OS and why I now have the LOG ON option instead of just booting to XP's USER
LOG ON. Any help would be appreciated.

Any additional info needed will be provided. Hopefully I made some sense
explaining this question. Thanks 2 all!!!!!!!!!!!

A footnote regarding the MMC console info, you may have to resize the window
wider to properly read the info the way I intended it to be seen. Sorry for
the extra work involved. Thanks though for helping

Remove the startup option.

start -> control panel -> system -> advanced -> startup and recovery ->
settings -> edit

top line of the open file is the default os

the two lines below that is the list

set the top line so that it points to the volume on which the os is installed.

hope that helped.

shafiee.
