Format C: drive on Win2000 PC's urgent help required

Want to format several Win2000 PC's before we send back
on lease. Using the knowledge base articles I can find
it says make win2000 boot disk.
It then says load into a: drive and turn on off PC and pc
will boot to an a: prompt then we can type in format c:
etc
My PC does not boot to the A: prompt instead it starts
installing Windows 2000 gradually asking for each disk in
the set.
Win2000 boot disks come as 4 disks.
What am I doing wrong please this is mega urgent as PC's
are due to go back on lease soon.

Would be easier to boot the machines from the Windows 2000 CD, delete and
recreate the partition and then format it.
