Format a field in Access

Hi all,
I am importing an excel spreadsheet into access. One of the columns in
Excel has a nine digit number with the number starting with 00.
Everytime I import it into Access, it seems to lop this off. How would I
format it so it retains this number from Excel? Thanks,

SA.

If it is a "number" then you don't need extra zeros. "I have zero zero
three apples"?

Make it a text field if you really want them there, or just use the
formatting options to display the desired number of digits in your forms,
reports, and queries.

Read the previous posts on this topic if you need more help. "Leading
Zeros" is a pretty common question in the newsgroup.
