Form controls invisible when underlying query returns no rows

How do I keep the controls on a form visible even if the underlying query
that is the record source does not return any rows? I had a form that I
"thought" was working fine, but then I deleted all the test rows from the
database to "start fresh" and now all my forms that are based on queries are
blank.
I am about to take off for the weekend, so thanks in absentia for your
replies.
