forgot username and password?

My technical help reset my username and password for Windows Mail. Today it
asked me to confirm them, which I didn't know, and he doesn't remember.

How do I reset so I can send out emails? So far I've been able to receive
but not send in absence of offering the proper security info.

Thanks for your help!

Are you saying you forgot the new password? Resetting a password
for an email account can only be done by contacting customer service
at your mail provider.

On the other hand, you are saying you can receive email, so that would
indicate the saved password is good. If you get an error message when
attempting to send, right-click on it, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

Ask him to change them again, and this time write them down but keep
this paper with you instead of leaving it at your desk.

You were obviously right, Gary - there was something else going on that
wasn't quite right. I clicked off the box that under tools that said "server
requires authentication" and although that didn't immediately solve the
problem, after I tried "send/receive" a time or two eventually my outbox
emptied - after getting a string of error messages on the send attempts.

But something must have righted itself in the process, because all seems
well now. Thanks for your prompt attention!!

PS - I did go back to click the box back on for requiring authentication.
Not because I know what that means, but just because that's how it was
before.

Thanks for your feedback. Most mail providers nowadays insist on
having that "My server requires authentication" setting enabled.
