Forcing to refresh?

Songbird

I am running FP 2002 on Win XP Pro.

Is it possible to insert code that would force a page to refresh -- i.e., if
a visitor has been to my site before, that page is cached in his computer
and he won't see my newly updated site unless he knows to tell it to refresh
(and sometimes I find even THAT doesn't work, even though the old web has
been deleted from the server altogether!).

Is there any way to make the page refresh? Would adding a date bar do it?

Hi Songbird,

Metatag will need to be added to the page to prevent the caching.

<meta http-equiv="Expires" content="Tue, 04 Dec 1993 21:29:02 GMT">

You may wish to take a look at J-Bots and the Page Cache component, a part of the General components.

Thanks for the quick response -- I assume any date in the past would work --
it's just to force the refresh?
