"Forced install timer expired"

I have WUS server installed and syncronized and about 30
clients set to update from it at various times throughout
the weekend. The windowsupdatelogs seem to show that the
clients successfully connect to the WUS server, but they
also say they didn't find any updates:

#AU Detection callback: 0 updates detected

When I look on the WUS console all the clients show 4
updates as "needed". I also see the following in the log:

#AU Detection callback: 0 updates detected
#WU client succeeds CClientCallRecorder::BeginFindUpdatesEx
from AutomaticUpdates with call id
{207AC21B-AD9E-4C70-A6B8-0F98E8038599}
#WU client executing call
{207AC21B-AD9E-4C70-A6B8-0F98E8038599} of type Search Call
# WinHttpGetProxyForUrl failed with 0x80072f94. Continuing
with NULL autoproxy list
#Loading inf file
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\SelfUpdate\wusetup.inf

last clue:

#Forced install timer expired for scheduled install
#Setting AU scheduled install time to 2004-12-25 12:00:00

So the clients seem to connect and know what they should
install but apparently don't. Does anyone have an idea
where I should be looking? Thanks in advance!

MikeE
