Footnotes not sequential

Hi,
I've got a Word document that was built from many, many other Word
documents. Boring legal stuff. Anyway, the thing has over 200 foonotes. I
want those footnotes to be sequential, 1–200, but, because it's coming from
disparate documents originally, there are a lot of re-starts, where it starts
with number "1" more than once. Does anyone know of a way to tell it to glob
them all and re-number them from the beginning, starting with "1?"
Thanks.

In the footnote options, is the numbering set to "Continuous" (for each
section)?

Note that if the document was originally created in WordPerfect, you may
have to manually recreate the footnotes, since they may not have
converted properly.

Thanks. Yes, it's set to continuous. I believe the editor is just going to
have to live with the numbering starting over at certain pages. He'll
probably ask that those pages start a new section.

Yes, it is strange, but, somehow it doesn't surprise me. Anyway, I've already
ported the whole document into Adobe InDesign, and, in there, it displayed
equally weird problems. But, I re-did them all by hand and it's now a
beautiful document. Thanks for your help.

OK. I'm glad you got it sorted, and thank you for the feedback.
