FOOTERS - SECOND PAGE

I have a two page document. The first page has a Section 1 Footer. The
second page has a Section 2 Footer. I want to get rid of the Section 2
Footer so that the Section 1 Footer continues. I can't delete the Section 2
Footer. There is also a third page to this document that I want to get rid
of that I can't seem to. I select from the end of the document on page 2 to
the end of page 3 and press delete, but nothing happens.

I also have a legal document where the second page footer of the document
has a different name and starts with page 1, but it's one two-page document.
So essentially I want to discontinue Footer 1 and create another Footer.

No idea what to do.

Is the section break really necessary? If not, delete it and your problems
will be solved. If it is required, then click on the Same As Previous button
in the Section 2 footer to turn it on; that will link that footer to the
previous one. See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/HeaderFooter.htm.

For the unwanted third page, see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BlankPage.htm, but note that if it is
caused by a Next Page section break, then deleting the section break (or
even changing it to Continuous) may cause problems; if you really need to
delete it, see the very last part of
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/WorkWithSections.htm

I don't know if I need a section break - it was there when I opened the
document and I'm trying to clean it up. I don't know how to delete it. I've
clicked the same as previous button but nothing happens. I'll look at both
links you sent -- thank you!
