Footer margins in Dissertation - need help!

T

Terri

The dissertation style requires the bottom margin be 1 inch and the
page number be at the top of the 1 inch bottom margin, so it is 1 inch
from the bottom of the page. I have set the Footer Margin in Page
Setup to 1 inch, and the Page margin to 1 inch which I thought was the
right way to set the margin to get the required margin. However, now I
have a 2 inch margin at the page number and the text starts one line
directly above the page number. What is the right way to get the
bottom margin I need?

You should post to a newsgroup for the word processing program you're using.
This one is for questions about the XP OS. Here is a portal to MS
newsgroups on the web.

If you mean with MS Word.

Open MS Word, hit F1, click the Answer Wizard tab, paste this in the What
would you like to do box using Ctrl + V: Position headers and footers

Click the Search button.

Click on Position headers.

Click the Show All link on the Position headers and footers article.

Read it.

Already tried that plus Troubleshoot headers and footers - thanks for
the suggestion even though I posted the message in the wrong group.
