Fonts, Bold, and Underline problems

G

Gail

When I start a document and use font size 36 on the first
page and go to the second page and change the font it
changes it on the first page.
Also when I highlight a few words to bold or underline it
bold or underlines everything in the whole document.
Does anyone know where I change this setting?? HELP
PLEASE!

Hi Gail,

Please totally ignore Andre's suggestion. There is a very slim chance that
you may need to do what he says, but it is so remote that I would not even
consider it.

There are plenty of other more simple things we can try first.

From the menu "Format", select "Styles..."
Now you have not mentioned which Word version you are using. In any case,
either a dialog box or a style pane on the right side of the screen will
appear.
Find the "Normal" style.
In the dialog box, select it then click "Modify", in the Style pane, right
click on it and select "Modify" (or use the little arrow next to the style
name to get to the menu).
You probably will notice that "Automatically update" is checked, uncheck it.
Close the dialog box or the pane and you are done.

I would bet that this solves your problem!

Cheers!

Have you tried "Detect & Repair" from the Help meny, applied Service Packs
& Patches for Word or Office 2000? Also, ensure that you are not pressing
the "CTRL" key on the keyboard while attempting select a few words are
placing the cursor bar after the sentences on page 2.
